The Second Coming
The Three Ages
In the Barley Overcomers, I mentioned the three feasts of Israel: Passover, Pentecost, and Tabernacles. These three feasts are also symbolic of the three major ages in the Kingdom of God. The three ages can also be linked to the size of the three parts of the Tabernacle: the Outer Court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. If we throw in the Jubilee cycles, we get a basic timeline. Below is a summary:
The Tabernacle
1. Outer Court
2. Holy Place – 2,000 cubits (10 x 20 x 10 cubits)
3. Holy of Holies – 1,000 cubits (10 x 10 x 10 cubits)
1. Passover Age – Moses to Christ, Kingdom of God operated on a small scale in the House of Israel
2. Pentecostal Age – started with the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, this age is 40 Jubilee cycles or 1960 years (49x40), about 2,000 years like 2,000 cubits, Kingdom of God works deeper in our lives
3. Tabernacles Age – this age is about 1,000 years like 1,000 cubits, the Holy Spirit would be poured out in the highest form with the greatest power on Earth, the barley overcomers will rule with power on the Earth and bring all things under Jesus, it will signal the greatest revival the world has ever seen
The Feast of Pentecost
Now let’s continue where we left off after Jesus’ resurrection. Jesus resurrected on April 5, 33 A.D. Then on May 20, Jesus made his final ascension as stated in Acts 1:3-9. Five days later on May 25 was the Day of Pentecost. I mentioned the feast of Pentecost in The Barley Overcomers. It commemorates the day the fire of God came down on Mount Sinai. This feast also has a spiritual meaning. Look at Acts:
Acts 2:1-4 – An in the day of the Pentecost being fulfilled, they were all with one accord at the same place, and there came suddenly out of the heaven a sound as of a bearing violent breath, and it filled all the house where they were sitting, and there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it say also upon each one of them, and they were also filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare (YLT)
Acts 2:15 – for these are not drunked, as ye take it up, for it is the third hour of the day. (YLT)
In this verse the Holy Spirit came from heaven like fire and filled the disciples. Also note that this took place the third hour of the day, or 9am, the same time Jesus ascended. This indicated the beginning of a new age, the Age of Pentecost. Symbolically, God is saying that an external offering of animals is no longer needed because he will accept our hearts as an internal offering. In the Pentecostal Age, God works deeper in our lives, trying to change us internally, instead of externally as seen in the Passover Age.
The Feast of Tabernacles
The last feast of Israel is the Feast of Tabernacles. The basic Feast of Tabernacles is discussed in Leviticus 23:33-44. It was celebrated for seven days, starting from the 15th day of the seventh month (called Tisri) till the 21st day. Then on the 22nd day there were final ceremonies. The 15th and 22nd were Sabbaths, or days of rest. Spiritually, the feast represents a period of time in which special things will happen:
Romans 8:23 – And not only [so], but also we ourselves, having the first-fruit of the Spirit, we also ourselves in ourselves do groan, adoption expecting – the redemption of our body; (YLT)
1 Corinthians 15:51-53 – lo, I tell you a secret; we indeed shall not sleep, and we all shall be changed; in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, in the last trumpet, for it shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we – we shall be changed; for it behoveth this corruptible to put on incorruption, and this mortal to put on immortality; (YLT)
These two verses are referring to the Age of Tabernacles. Remember from the barley overcomers that the first fruits are God’s elite. So the barley overcomers will be raised from the dead in the first resurrection and exchange their old bodies for new bodies which are perfect and immortal. There are many examples in the Bible which are referring to the Feast or Age of Tabernacles. It would take forever to discuss them all, so I will just focus on the main ones.
