Scientology is kind of a mysterious religion because it is so secretive. From a Christian perspective, it is important to learn about other religions instead of fear them. There are people out there just like you who have only a slightly different upbringing, which has led to different beliefs and therefore a different religion. Scientology is one of them. The appeal of Scientology is that it claims to have all the answers that other religions or beliefs do not. To many, Christianity seems to be full of holes and inconsistences, but that is because they don’t understand God’s full plan. Scientology began when L. Ron Hubbard wrote a book named Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health in 1951. The book was initially meant to be a psychology book. However, because it sold many copies, Hubbard had the idea of turning it into a religion to create even more profit. The idea took hold; largely because of Hubbard’s skills in business, marketing, intelligence, and charisma. Then in 1993, the IRS recognized Scientology as a religion which made it take off. This made their profits even greater. They have also wisely appealed to celebrities, which is where a lot of their income comes from. For all of the history and details of their beliefs, check out the page: Matthew 7:15-16 - Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?
